Healthcare, Nutrition and Malnutrition

At SOHDA, we believe that good health and proper nutrition are fundamental human rights and essential pillars for sustainable development. Healthy individuals, families, and communities are better equipped to pursue education, secure livelihoods, and contribute to social and economic progress.

Somalia continues to face significant health and nutrition challenges, including limited access to quality healthcare services, recurrent disease outbreaks, maternal and child health concerns, food insecurity, and persistent levels of acute malnutrition. These challenges continue to affect the well-being and resilience of vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, internally displaced persons, and underserved communities.

SOHDA is committed to improving access to quality healthcare services and strengthening nutrition interventions to ensure that communities can live healthier, safer, and more productive lives. Through collaboration with government institutions, local authorities, community structures, United Nations agencies, international organizations, and development partners, we work to address both immediate humanitarian needs and long-term health system strengthening.
